ON A PERSONAL NOTE...
My husband John and I "retired" to Spring Hill, Florida, in 2005 from central Iowa. We enjoy our 55+ community, "Wellington at Seven Hills," where we share a home with our beloved French Brittany "Beau."
Spring Hill is part of Tampa Bay's "Nature coast" where we have it all…we are only ten miles from the gulf which allows us to enjoy boating and fishing The Suncoast Nature Trail, forty-two miles of running, walking, roller blading, or biking. (John and I have been known to ride 25 to 100 miles in a day) is just four miles from our front door. In addition to this, we are just 45 minutes from Tampa via the "Suncoast Expressway" where we can enjoy the theatre, concerts, etc.
We have two daughters living here in Florida, one in Pennsylvania, and a son in Omaha. With six grandchildren (5 boys and 1 girl), we encourage visits to PopPop and Grandma Maggie's anytime, we are so blessed to have healthy, energetic grandchildren to love and enjoy. Of course, our pool is a lure as well as the fact we live only 80 miles west of Disney World and all its' glory.
We enjoyed a fantastic life in Iowa where I was a special events coordinator for a not-for-profit and John was a research scientist. TODAY we have a fantastic life in Spring Hill with wonderful friends, a great church, and new interests. John volunteers as the Public Education Officer at the local Flotilla, (Coast Guard Auxiliary) where he himself has learned so much about the Gulf, boating, and fishing in salt water.
